Dear you,
There’s usually a moment before I lift my camera. It’s quiet. You adjust your dress, smooth a sleeve, take a breath you didn’t realize you were holding. Nothing dramatic; just a small pause. That’s the moment
I fall in love with every time. I want you to know something before anything else: I don’t photograph women to fix them. I don’t do it to make you look like someone you aren’t. I do it to witness you, exactly as you are, in this
season of your life. So many women tell me the same things when they arrive: “I’m awkward.” “I’m not very photogenic.” “I’ll feel better doing this later.” But later is a moving target, and life doesn’t wait for us to feel ready.
Motherhood has taught me that. So has loss. So has watching how quickly bodies, homes, and hearts change. This... right now, is worthy of being remembered. When you step in front of my lens, you don’t need to perform. You don’t need
to hold it together. You don’t need to know what to do with your hands. We’ll move slowly. We’ll leave room for softness. If laughter comes, we’ll let it. If quiet settles in, that’s welcome too.
Some days look like joy. Some days look like heaviness. All of it belongs here. This blog is an extension of that same care. A place for letters like this one, for reflections from behind the lens, for thoughts
on womanhood, motherhood, and the in-between moments we don’t always have words for.If you found your way here because you’re craving something honest, I’m glad you’re here. If you’re here because you’re learning to be gentler with
yourself, you’re exactly where you need to be. And if you’re here just to linger for a moment, that’s enough.
Thank you for trusting me... with your image, your story, or simply your time.
With love,
Ariel Jade
